Houston Gardening - The Houston Chronicle has excellent garden articles.  Best to check on the weekends. 

Home and Garden - The Times-Picayune in New Orleans has a good garden section.  Quality varies week by week, but worth a weekly look.

http://www.2theadvocate.com/features/gardening/ - .Lewis Miller, long time garden celebrity in Baton Rouge.  Lewis keeps a month-by-month calendar here as well.  Overall pretty weak for a news column, but his radio show is excellent.

http://www.betterlawns.com/ - By far the most complete and pretty much right for the gulf coast.  Even has the last  3 years of archived month by month columns.  Use a two week hedge if you think this middle of Zone 9 list is a bit ahead of schedule. 

http://www.teasnursery.com/cal.htm - This one is from a nursery in Houston, is far less comprehensive and shows only the current month,  but usually right on target date wise.

http://www.louisianalawnandgarden.org/ - This website contains horticulture information from the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, the educational branch of the LSU AgCenter, as well as information from the Department of Horticulture at LSU. The information contained within is intended to benefit the home gardener as well as commercial horticulture businesses.
